European Biotechnology Congress 2017

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are proud to announce that the ‘European Biotechnology Congress 2017’ will be held between 25 - 27 May 2017 in Dubrovnik, Croatia. It gives us great pleasure to invite you to participate in this accomplished event. We have selected an attractive location for the delivery of the scientific program. Also abstracts will be published in supplement of the Journal of Biotechnology.

Dubrovnik is known to the whole world as a unique city monument, with architectural and urban wealth providing evidence of a strong cultural community existing in these areas for centuries. The city of great culture and history already has a recognised cultural significance in the region and the world, including the protection of UNESCO.

Eurobiotech 2012 Agriculture Symposium

On behalf of the all the Organising Members, it is our great pleasure to inform you that EUROBIOTECH 2012 AGRICULTURE SYMPOSIUM held in Kayseri, Turkey between 12 – 14 April 2012. The symposium is organised by European Biotechnology Thematic Network Association (EBTNA) is mainly supported by Food, Agricultural and Livestock Ministry, Republic of Turkey Erciyes University, and Food, Agricultural and Livestock Ministry, General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies, Republic of Turkey. The main aim of "Eurobiotech 2012 Agriculture Symposium" was to share and discuss the latest and other possible advances, techniques and issues, which will eventually lead to knowledge exchange. Kayseri, located in the central Anatolia, was chosen as the city of venue for this event. It is one of the leading cities in Turkey with its rapid growth in the sense of economy, culture, sports and urbanism as well as its ancient history. Cappadocia, very close to Kayseri, is also a popular tourist destination, as it has many areas with unique geological, historic and cultural features in the world.

European International Biotechnology School

It is our great pleasure to share with you that Job Creation Oriented Biotechnology School carried by Perugia University in Italy till 2010 will go on its education at Erciyes University with upcoming education period under the new name of European International Biotechnology School with organisation of 13 different consortium European universities and support of European Biotechnology Thematic Network Association (EBTNA). A Consortium of 13 European Universities was formed with the agreement to create a First Level and Master Degrees on Biotechnology. The course will be located at Erciyes University, but the students during the stages or for the preparation of the thesis can spend totally one year in other countries. 

Education language is English and the students from all participant Universities and other European countries can apply. The joint degree will be signed by the 13 Universities. The first enrolled students may go on their education having the possibility to follow a master course without losing the capability to receive a joint degree obtained already with the first level course. Each semester includes a total of 300 hours of lectures of which 1/3 are formal, while the rest of the time is devoted to practical activities. The last semester is completely devoted to the preparation of the thesis. Each Institution will collaborate in sending teachers and experts, in helping the students with scholarships and offering stages in the laboratory. 

They, through the Teaching Committee which is formed by a representative nominated by the President of each University, must collaborate in the organisation of the courses, evaluation of student achievement by assuring quality. The students will get the Associate Diploma signed by 13 universities at the end of the successfully completed period. Please, visit the web page www.eurobiotechschool.eu for detailed information. European Biotechnology Congress 2011

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Congress Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to inform you that European Biotechnology Congress 2011 held in Istanbul, Turkey, between 28th September and 1st October.

The congress is hosted by the president of EBTNA and Turkish Society of Medical Genetics and aims to provide you with high quality scientific program covering a wide range of topics in biotechnology and we guess we achieved our target.

Istanbul was chosen as the city of the venue for this event. It is only the city in the world built on the two continents, Europe and Asia, and this is reflected in the atmosphere of the city where a number of different cultures, civilizations and religions meet. It is one of the oldest city in the world and has a history of over 2500 years. The city stands on the shores of Bosphorus where the Black Sea mingles with the Sea of Marmara and the Golden Horn. As being one of the world's most beautiful and historical cities, Istanbul gives a preferred venue for many international organizations.
